Lead a distributed engineering team responsible for operating and improving managed private-cloud environments. The role combines people leadership, technical delivery, service operations, and customer collaboration in a remote-first setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop an engineering team delivering day-to-day managed services for customer environments
- Improve engineering quality and delivery speed through effective processes and team workflows
- Monitor team health and use insights to improve collaboration and operational effectiveness
- Establish engineering and operations practices that support reliable, maintainable service delivery
- Represent the team with customers, internal stakeholders, product engineering groups, and external teams
- Coordinate priorities, milestones, deliverables, and customer commitments across environments
- Ensure deployments meet agreed service levels and are delivered consistently and on time
- Work with customers, product engineering, and operations teams to resolve challenges and drive continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in a technology-related field
- Professional experience in software delivery using a language such as Python, Go, C, C++, or Java, or experience managing technical operations teams
- Professional experience with OpenStack
- Understanding of software testing, maintainable code, and engineering quality practices
- Linux system administration experience
- Technical aptitude for distributed systems, cloud architectures, and cloud technologies
- Experience with agile software development and structured engineering practices
- Experience working in and managing geographically distributed teams
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to travel for team events and customer meetings, generally up to 20%
