Terms of Use

1. Service Provider

The Service is operated by Dmitrii Rubinov, registered in Israel under business registration number 347374779.

2. Subscription Plans and Access

The Service is provided under two main plans: Basic and Pro. Plan names, features, limits, pricing, and availability may vary by region, payment method, promotion, or technical availability.

2.1 Basic Plan

• The Basic plan is automatically activated upon registration, unless stated otherwise.
• The Basic plan provides users with 5 CV optimization tokens every 30 days.
• Tokens granted under the Basic plan are valid for 30 days from the date they are issued.
• Unused Basic plan tokens expire at the end of their validity period and do not roll over to the next 30-day period.
• Each CV optimization and each CV re-optimization under the Basic plan consumes 1 optimization token, unless expressly stated otherwise in the Service.
• Generated CV files under the Basic plan may include CVZilla branding, including a logo, watermark, footer, or similar attribution.

2.2 Pro Plan

• The Pro plan provides users with unlimited CV optimization and re-optimization usage during the active paid subscription period, subject to these Terms, technical limits, fair use restrictions, and abuse prevention measures.
• Unlimited usage is implemented by granting Pro users 200 optimization tokens for each active 30-day subscription period. If a Pro user uses all 200 optimization tokens before the end of the current subscription period, an additional 200 optimization tokens will be automatically granted for use until the end of that same subscription period, subject to fair use, technical limits, and abuse prevention rules.
• The Pro plan subscription price is $11.90 per 30-day subscription period, excluding VAT or other applicable taxes unless expressly stated otherwise.
• Pro users may run up to 5 CV optimizations in parallel, subject to temporary technical limits, queueing, rate limits, and system availability.
• The Pro plan removes CVZilla branding, including the CVZilla logo, from all generated CV files while the Pro subscription is active.
• The Pro plan also allows users to generate or download previously generated CV files without CVZilla branding while the Pro subscription is active, where technically supported by the Service.
• Pro benefits are attached to the user's account and may not be transferred, resold, shared, or used to provide services to third parties unless we expressly authorize it in writing.

2.3 Pro Subscription Cancellation

• Users may cancel their Pro subscription at any time from their account dashboard or by following the cancellation flow made available by the payment provider.
• Cancellation does not immediately terminate access to the Pro plan. The user will retain Pro access until the end of the current paid subscription period.
• After the current Pro subscription period ends, the user will automatically return to the standard Basic plan, unless another plan or offer is selected.
• Once the Pro subscription ends, Pro-only benefits, including unlimited usage, parallel optimization limits, and logo removal for newly generated or downloaded files, may no longer be available.
• The Pro subscription fee is non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law or expressly approved by us or our payment provider.

We reserve the right to modify subscription terms, features, pricing, or availability at any time. Where required by applicable law, we will notify users of material changes in advance.

2.4 Fair Use and Abuse Prevention

• Unlimited usage under the Pro plan is intended for normal personal use by the account holder.
• We may apply reasonable technical limits, rate limits, queues, or temporary restrictions to protect Service stability, prevent abuse, and ensure fair access for other users.
• We may suspend, limit, or terminate access if we reasonably believe that an account is being used for automated scraping, excessive automated requests, resale, shared access, fraudulent activity, circumvention of limits, or any use that materially harms the Service or other users.

3. Tokens

Tokens are a virtual unit used within the Service to perform CV optimization and, where applicable, CV re-optimization.

• Tokens can be used exclusively for CV optimization processes within the Service.
• Subscription tokens are granted as part of the user's active plan and are valid for 30 days from the date they are issued.
• Under the Basic plan, each CV optimization and each CV re-optimization consumes 1 optimization token, unless expressly stated otherwise in the Service.
• Under the Pro plan, CV optimization and re-optimization are unlimited during the active subscription period. This unlimited usage is implemented through recurring batches of 200 optimization tokens: Pro users receive 200 optimization tokens for each active 30-day subscription period, and if those tokens are fully used before the end of the same subscription period, an additional 200 optimization tokens are automatically granted for use until the end of that period, subject to fair use, technical limits, and abuse prevention rules.
• At the start of an optimization or re-optimization process, tokens may be temporarily reserved from the user's balance where token-based usage applies.
• If an optimization or re-optimization process fails because of a Service error, the reserved tokens are returned to the user's balance where token-based usage applies.
• Tokens have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred to another user account.
• Expired, used, or promotional tokens are not refundable, except where required by applicable law.

The following action does not consume tokens:

• Generation of a personal note, where supported by the Service

We may provide users with a free feature called "Claim more", allowing them to receive additional promotional tokens. Promotional tokens may be subject to additional limits, availability rules, and expiration periods.

2.1 Promo Codes

• Users may receive promo codes as part of promotional campaigns, special offers, partnerships, or other marketing activities.
• Promo codes may be activated in the user's account dashboard, where supported by the Service.
• Successful activation of a promo code may add promotional optimization tokens to the user's token balance.
• Tokens issued through promo codes may have different validity periods depending on the specific promotion.
• The applicable validity period, token amount, and any relevant limitations will be shown to the user upon successful activation of the promo code.
• Promo codes may be limited by time, region, user account, number of uses, or other conditions defined by CVZilla.
• Promo codes and tokens issued through promo codes have no cash value, are not transferable, and are not refundable, except where required by applicable law.

4. Payments, Fees, and Pricing

Certain features of the Service, including the Pro plan, may require payment.

• The Pro plan subscription price is $11.90 per 30-day subscription period.
• Pro plan usage is included in the subscription price and is not separately charged per token. Pro users receive recurring batches of 200 optimization tokens during the active subscription period as described in these Terms, subject to fair use, technical limits, and abuse prevention rules.
• Any applicable fees, billing terms, taxes, and payment conditions will be presented to the user before payment.
• Prices displayed in the Service do not include VAT or other applicable taxes, unless expressly stated otherwise.
• Unless otherwise required by applicable law, paid subscription fees are non-refundable.
• Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Their own terms, policies, and payment flows may apply in addition to these Terms.

We may change prices, available plans, token amounts, payment options, or paid features at any time. Price changes will not affect payments already completed, unless required by applicable law.

If a payment is declined, reversed, refunded, disputed, or suspected to be fraudulent, we may suspend, limit, or cancel paid access, token balances, or related benefits, subject to applicable law.

5. Changes to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time.

Where required by applicable law, we will notify users of material changes in advance.

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

6. Nature of the Service

CVZilla provides tools powered by machine learning and large language models (LLMs) to assist users in optimizing CVs and related content.

The Service does not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any generated output.

Users are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content before using it.

The Service does not provide legal, employment, recruitment, immigration, financial, or professional advice. Generated outputs are provided for drafting, editing, and productivity purposes only.

7. User Responsibility

You acknowledge and agree that:

• You will independently review all outputs generated by the Service.
• You are responsible for any decisions or actions taken based on such outputs.
• You will not rely solely on automated results without verification.
• You are responsible for ensuring that any CV, profile, cover letter, or related content you use is truthful, accurate, lawful, and not misleading.
• You will not use the Service to fabricate experience, qualifications, employers, education, achievements, immigration status, licenses, or other material facts.
• You will not submit false, misleading, unlawful, or third-party confidential information through the Service.

8. Data Protection and Privacy (GDPR)

We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR").

8.1 Data Controller

CVZilla acts as the data controller for personal data processed in connection with the Service.

8.2 Types of Data We Process

• Account information, such as email and login details
• CV content and uploaded documents
• Generated outputs and optimization results
• Subscription, billing, and token usage data
• Usage data, such as interactions with the Service

8.3 Legal Basis for Processing

• Performance of a contract — to provide the Service
• Legitimate interests — to improve, secure, and operate the Service
• Consent — where required, including for testimonials or optional features
• Legal obligations — where applicable

8.4 Purpose of Processing

• Provide and operate the Service
• Process CV optimization requests
• Manage subscriptions, payments, and tokens
• Improve Service performance and user experience
• Ensure security and prevent abuse
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

8.5 Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in these Terms, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Users may request deletion of their data at any time by contacting us at team@cvzilla.io.

8.6 Data Sharing and Processors

We may share data with trusted third-party service providers that assist in cloud hosting, infrastructure, AI/LLM processing, document parsing, analytics, payments, billing, customer support, email delivery, security, and monitoring.

All such providers are contractually required to process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

8.7 Your Rights (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Request rectification of inaccurate data
• Request erasure of your data
• Restrict processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Object to certain processing activities
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

8.8 International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed outside the EEA. Where this occurs, we will implement appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or equivalent lawful transfer mechanisms.

8.9 Automated Processing

The Service uses automated systems, including AI models, to generate content and optimize user materials.

Such processing does not constitute automated decision-making producing legal or similarly significant effects under Article 22 GDPR.

9. No Liability for Outcomes

The Service is provided as a productivity tool only. CVZilla does not participate in job applications or hiring processes.

We are not responsible for any outcomes related to job applications, including but not limited to rejection, loss of opportunity, or any other consequences arising from the use of the Service.

We do not guarantee that any CV, profile, keyword selection, formatting choice, or other generated output will pass applicant tracking systems, meet employer expectations, result in interviews, or improve hiring outcomes.

If you use generated content without proper review, you assume full responsibility for any resulting consequences.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or harmful purposes.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
• Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or similar methods to access the Service in a manner that exceeds normal personal use or bypasses limits.
• Upload malicious code, harmful files, or content that infringes third-party rights or violates applicable law.
• Share, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit account access, Pro benefits, tokens, or generated outputs in violation of these Terms.

11. Testimonials and Feedback

With your consent, we may use and publish feedback, testimonials, or reviews related to the Service.

We will not disclose sensitive or personally identifiable information without your explicit permission.

12. Service Availability

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. The Service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
