Lead the full payroll operation for a large organization, ensuring accurate and timely monthly processing, regulatory compliance, data quality, employee service, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete monthly payroll cycle, including deadlines, data verification, controls, and finalization.
- Handle complex payroll matters, including terminations, severance, special employment arrangements, and employee entitlements.
- Ensure compliance with employment law, payroll regulations, and instructions from relevant authorities.
- Manage, coach, and develop the payroll accounting team; allocate work and implement professional standards and procedures.
- Provide payroll and benefits support to employees, managers, Human Resources, and Finance teams.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities, the National Insurance Institute, pension administrators, auditors, and external consultants.
- Lead payroll and attendance projects, including automation, process improvement, system maintenance, and upgrades.
- Integrate subsidiaries into centralized payroll operations and maintain consistent processes and standards.
- Lead payroll audits with auditors and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee payroll data quality and information transferred from Human Resources systems, including SAP.
Requirements
- Mandatory payroll accountant certification.
- At least 5 years of payroll processing experience in a large organization.
- At least 2–3 years of experience managing a payroll accounting team.
- Hands-on experience with payroll and attendance systems.
- Experience working with tax authorities, the National Insurance Institute, pension administrators, and other external entities.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, business administration, human resources, or a related field.
- Experience with Hilan payroll systems.
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience implementing subsidiaries into centralized payroll operations.
