Technical Product Owner – Core Systems

As Technical Product Owner, you will own the core system that powers value-creating processes across 18 countries, leading its modernization from a monolithic architecture to a modern cloud-based microservices landscape.
Responsibilities
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT, translating functional requirements into precise technical specifications and ensuring architectural compliance.
- Drive the modernization of legacy systems (Oracle PL/SQL, Delphi, .NET Framework) by defining roadmap items for refactoring and migration to microservices on Azure AKS using C#.
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog with technical expertise, balancing new features against technical debt reduction.
- Take end-to-end ownership of initiatives from discovery and architecture design through implementation to go-live and stable operations.
- Manage stakeholders by moderating workshops, aligning expectations on scope and timelines, and coordinating collaboration across international hubs.
- Embed a data-first mindset within the team and ensure non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, and security are integral to every user story.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience as a Product Owner, Technical Project Lead, or in an architecture-related role.
- Deep understanding of software architectures, including relational databases (Oracle PL/SQL) and modern cloud platforms (Azure, containers, microservices).
- Willingness to work with legacy technologies (Delphi, .NET Framework) and transform them intelligently.
- Strong proficiency in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and their effective application in complex enterprise environments.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to say no when technically necessary and to convey complex topics clearly to management.
- Business fluency in both German and English, and willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 20%) to other sites.
