PLM Product Owner
Seeking a PLM Product Owner to drive the strategic implementation and continuous improvement of the company-wide PLM and engineering process landscape. This role involves leading transformation projects, managing cross-functional teams, and serving as Product Owner post-go-live. The company operates in the defense and manufacturing sectors.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the PLM and engineering process strategy in alignment with business units, IT, and management.
- Conduct market analyses and technology benchmarks, and translate business requirements into user stories, use cases, and target processes.
- Manage RFPs, coordinate vendor evaluations, and provide expertise during contract and license negotiations.
- Lead pre-phase and Phase 0 projects, prepare decision documentation, and coordinate rollout strategies with stakeholders and partners.
- Oversee PLM implementation and transformation projects, ensuring quality, budget, schedule, and risk management.
- Lead a cross-functional team and coordinate technical matters across IT, engineering, production, quality, and service providers.
- Collaborate with the PMO on governance, reporting, and escalations.
- After go-live, act as Product Owner for the PLM platform, optimizing processes, prioritizing requirements, and ensuring IT integration and SLAs.
Requirements
- Degree in computer science, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field.
- Several years of experience in PLM/PDM, digital engineering, or engineering IT.
- Experience in selecting and implementing complex enterprise software solutions.
- Solid understanding of system architectures, integrations, and modern IT landscapes.
- Experience managing interdisciplinary projects and external service providers.
- Familiarity with both agile and traditional project management methods.
- Confident communication and presentation skills, adaptable to various audiences and decision-makers.
- Excellent German and English language skills.
