Head of Product Management
Lead the product management team for compressors and blower technologies at a global machinery manufacturer. Drive portfolio strategy, digital transformation, and process modernization across the full product lifecycle in an international B2B environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a product management team for compressor and blower technologies
- Own the global product lifecycle from market requirements and strategy through launch, maintenance, and phase-out
- Define and execute a forward-looking product and portfolio strategy for international markets
- Advance product platforms, modular architectures, and variant strategies
- Prioritize and steer new product initiatives and strategic development projects
- Build modern product management processes, methods, governance, and role clarity
- Prepare product management for digital demands including structured product data, digital configuration, data-driven market analysis, and digital services
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, sales, service, controlling, and international subsidiaries
- Lead and moderate cross-functional decision-making in a complex stakeholder environment
- Drive change initiatives for professionalization, standardization, internationalization, and digitalization of product management
Requirements
- University degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering, or a comparable technical field
- Leadership experience in product management, project management, or technical teams
- Experience evolving product portfolios, platforms, or technical product strategies
- Proven change management experience in processes, roles, organizational structures, or governance
- Understanding of digital transformation in industrial product management (e.g., product data management, configuration, digital services, data-driven decisions)
- Experience positioning technical products in national and international markets
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a high drive for implementation
- Entrepreneurial mindset, high ownership, and ability to translate strategy into action
- Confident communication and assertiveness with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to lead teams through change, provide direction, and develop employees
- Structured, independent, and results-oriented working style in a dynamic international environment
- Fluent English and German skills
