Lead end-to-end systems engineering for an unmanned surface vessel, from requirements and architecture through integration, testing, sea trials, and production readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams covering vessel control, software and automation, autonomy, communications, and mission systems.
- Define system architecture, technical and operational requirements, and systems engineering processes.
- Lead System Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, and Critical Design Reviews.
- Coordinate system-level integration across platform subsystems, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Manage engineering risks, configuration control, project tracking, and status reporting.
- Lead technical interfaces with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers, including requirements alignment and deliverable tracking.
- Own the verification and validation program, including integration tests, system testing, and sea trials.
- Define test scenarios and success criteria, analyze results, and drive corrective actions through closure.
- Lead development-phase completion and production readiness, including design-gap closure, manufacturing knowledge transfer, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, marine engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience working on complex engineering projects.
- At least 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary systems development.
- Experience managing development programs and significant budgets.
- Proven experience leading system integration and field or sea trials.
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering, system development processes, and requirements management.
- Familiarity with control systems, navigation, communications, autonomy, and mission systems.
- Excellent technical English, written and verbal.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with unmanned systems or maritime platforms.
- A master's degree in technology management, systems engineering, or electrical engineering.
- Experience with requirements and configuration management tools.
- Experience with safety standards, maritime regulations, classification requirements, and testing procedures.
- Experience developing and operating unmanned systems.
- Military, Israeli Navy, or defense-industry experience.
- Experience developing complex control and automation systems.
