Beam Physics Service Engineer

Provide on-site service engineering for proton therapy systems, focusing on beam equipment installation, calibration, commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Install proton therapy equipment and technical tools, with a focus on beam-related systems
- Calibrate beam equipment according to established procedures
- Operate and understand the system’s software, hardware architecture, and proton therapy center components
- Set up and align dosimetry tools
- Analyze technical data to diagnose issues
- Test and validate equipment against specifications and customer requirements
- Manage beam commissioning activities, including Pencil Beam Scanning
- Troubleshoot equipment and support high-quality service delivery
Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in physics or engineering
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Python, and data-acquisition scripting
- Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and identify root causes
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Customer-oriented, analytical, collaborative, and able to follow regulations and strict deadlines
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, and weekends for up to 50% of working time
Nice to have
- Experience in high-energy physics, particle accelerators, or medical physics
- Willingness to travel extensively during an approximately six-month training period
