Lead a multidisciplinary squad of backend and data engineers building compliance systems for a financial technology company. Oversee technical strategy, architecture, data pipelines, audits, and team growth while remaining hands-on with modern tools.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of 3 backend and data engineers, including hiring and onboarding.
- Architect scalable, high-performance systems for compliance-critical operations; define technical roadmap.
- Design and oversee backend infrastructure and data pipelines for accurate, auditable compliance.
- Serve as single point of contact for legal and compliance stakeholders on technical audit requests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology and compliance goals.
- Remain hands-on in the codebase, ensuring high code quality.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of software development experience, backend focused, with strong system architecture.
- 2+ years leading engineering teams and managing end-to-end project lifecycles.
- Experience building large-scale, high-performance systems and distributed microservices.
- Experience with data pipelines and big data infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with Java or Kotlin in production; familiarity with AWS.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and with senior leadership.
- Proficiency in English.
- Solution-oriented mindset, adaptability.
Nice to have
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
- Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and Kafka.
- Domain expertise in Fintech, Banking, or Regulation/Compliance.
- Experience with data tools like Snowflake, Spark, or DBT.
