Payments Analyst

Support accurate, consistent chargeback data across payment service providers and internal systems. Investigate operational and technical issues, validate integrations, and help improve payment operations through cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Research payment service providers and understand their data structures, workflows, and reporting standards
- Map, normalize, and validate external data against internal systems
- Monitor operational systems, dashboards, and application logs for anomalies and failures
- Triage operational issues and translate them into technical investigations
- Perform root-cause analysis for data discrepancies and chargeback case issues
- Use SQL to analyze trends and troubleshoot data problems
- Coordinate with product, operations, engineering, and other teams on edge cases and system improvements
- Communicate with PSP representatives to clarify formats and resolve integration issues
- Use AI tools to improve research, data processing, and workflow efficiency
- Document processes and contribute to internal best practices
Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a technology company or fintech startup
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and resolve data irregularities
- Hands-on experience reading application logs and using monitoring or observability tools
- Comfort working with data and dashboards
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and data validation
- Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and ownership
- Clear communication and documentation skills
- Fluency in English
Nice to have
- Knowledge of payments, disputes, or chargeback workflows
- Experience with PSP portals, merchant reporting dashboards, or chargeback platforms
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Groundcover, Datadog, or Kibana
- Interest in developing toward Scrum Master or process-owner responsibilities
- Willingness to learn new systems, automation technologies, and AI tools
