Analytics and Game Economy Team Leader
Lead a team of game analysts and economists at a mobile gaming studio. Own data strategy, economy design, experimentation, and quantitative insights that support engagement, retention, monetization, and live-operations performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of game analysts and economists.
- Set the team roadmap in alignment with product priorities and live-operations schedules.
- Partner with product managers, game designers, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Design and refine economic frameworks for in-game features, virtual currencies, player progression, and live-operations events.
- Analyze gameplay loops, sinks, and sources to improve engagement, retention, and lifetime value.
- Identify growth opportunities and optimize in-app purchase monetization strategies.
- Monitor daily KPIs, player behavior trends, and overall game-economy dynamics.
- Design, run, and evaluate A/B tests for existing and upcoming features.
- Build predictive models and simulations to forecast the impact of economy changes.
- Translate quantitative analysis into actionable recommendations for leadership and game teams.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of direct experience managing an analytics, economy, or data science team.
- At least 4 years of hands-on analytical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in the gaming industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, industrial engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- High proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel or Google Sheets.
- Strong experience with A/B testing methodologies and statistical significance.
- Strategic, product-oriented understanding of how game economies influence gameplay and performance metrics.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex analysis to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with mobile casual game economies.
- Familiarity with big data tools and analytics suites.
- Experience with BI platforms such as Power BI, Looker, or Tableau.
