Principal Kernel Engineer
Develop and guide kernel-level enforcement and telemetry software for security products across Linux, Windows, and other platforms. Lead technical decisions for a small team and help shape product direction.
Responsibilities
- Write and debug kernel-level C across Linux kernel modules, Windows kernel drivers, and eBPF programs.
- Own investigation of complex production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and lead post-mortems.
- Review critical kernel and eBPF code, mentor engineers, unblock complex work, and guide technical decisions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of production C experience, primarily at kernel or driver level.
- Production experience with the Linux kernel, Windows drivers, or eBPF.
- Hands-on eBPF experience, including writing programs, using the verifier, and ensuring cross-kernel portability.
- Strong understanding of kernel fundamentals, including concurrency, memory safety, and low-level debugging.
- Experience with driver signing, Secure Boot, cross-kernel compatibility, and CI for multi-version environments.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to diagnose kernel crashes and severe bugs.
