Join an automotive engineering team developing next-generation electrical control units for autonomous vehicles. Own mechanical product design from concept through qualification, new product introduction, and mass production.
Responsibilities
- Own mechanical ECU design from concept through detailed design, qualification, NPI, and mass production.
- Define PCB outlines, height limitations, and keep-out areas with hardware and layout teams.
- Integrate electrical and mechanical designs.
- Perform design-for-manufacturing reviews, mechanical simulations, and stack-up and tolerance analyses.
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into ECU design specifications.
- Collaborate with hardware, thermal, quality, verification and validation, reliability, production, OEM, tier-one manufacturing, and supplier teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience; higher education is acceptable.
- At least 6 years of mechanical design experience in the automotive industry.
- Advanced hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
- Experience designing mechanical components for high-volume manufacturing, including stamping, die casting, extrusion, and injection molding.
- Knowledge of statistical tolerance analysis, CTF dimensioning, GD&T, design for manufacturing, and FMEA.
- Understanding of automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
