Design, develop, and test optomechanical systems and components for an augmented reality platform serving the medical device industry.
Responsibilities
- Design multidisciplinary mechanical systems, with a focus on optomechanics and thermal design, and integrate them with electro-optical systems.
- Develop optomechanical mechanisms and support component miniaturization and microintegration.
- Prototype, test, and analyze concepts to assess functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Select materials and manufacturing processes based on performance, quality, and cost requirements.
- Apply relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management requirements to mechanical design.
- Prepare and maintain technical drawings, specifications, design history files, and manufacturing instructions.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers, support production, and apply design-for-manufacturability principles.
- Process test data and prepare clear reports and conclusions.
- Track relevant engineering developments and propose product improvements.
Requirements
- More than 7 years of mechanical design and development experience.
- Experience with miniature mechanisms and optomechanical design.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and GD&T.
- Matlab or Python scripting skills.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and design verification methods.
- Ability to solve problems quickly in a dynamic environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with heat management, CNC, molding, casting, 3D printing, or PCB/PCBA design.
