Own mechanical design from concept through production for advanced defense systems. Work across design, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize mechanical components, assemblies, and mechanisms from concept and detailed design through prototyping, validation, and production.
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot lab prototypes and use findings to improve designs.
- Create complex CAD models and production drawings in SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with hardware, electronics, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams to balance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
- Travel to manufacturing sites and suppliers as needed to support production and validation.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of mechanical design experience on multidisciplinary products, including at least 2 years designing for plastic injection molding and conducting Moldflow analysis.
- Advanced SolidWorks proficiency.
- Experience designing mechanisms and strong engineering fundamentals.
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal design, and design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Hands-on rapid prototyping and prototype development experience, with willingness to work in a lab and on a production floor.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Nice to have
- SolidWorks surface modeling experience.
- Experience in defense, robotics, aerospace, or automotive.
