Responsibilities
- Lead technically complex initiatives across Android, RTOS, and embedded software domains.
- Drive architecture, design, implementation, and cross-domain integration decisions.
- Develop and debug code in ambiguous, high-risk, or high-impact areas.
- Identify and resolve systemic issues spanning components, teams, and organizational boundaries.
- Influence software direction across platform, application, integration, and vehicle-level concerns.
- Translate product and organizational needs into practical technical plans and engineering improvements.
- Raise engineering standards through design reviews, code quality, technical rigor, and mentoring.
- Improve development practices, integration approaches, debugging efficiency, and delivery predictability.
- Balance speed, quality, scalability, maintainability, and vehicle or program constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 10 years of hands-on software engineering experience building complex production systems.
- Strong embedded software experience, including low-level debugging, performance analysis, and system integration.
- Significant production experience with Android and/or RTOS-based systems.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or C.
- Experience driving technical outcomes across multiple teams or domains through influence, ownership, and execution.
- Experience working with senior engineering leaders, architects, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong fundamentals in system design, architecture, concurrency, debugging, performance, and maintainability.
- Experience in large-scale, cross-site, cross-functional software organizations.
Nice to have
- Experience in automotive software, camera systems, computer vision pipelines, or safety-relevant embedded platforms.
- Experience with resource-constrained or real-time systems.
- Familiarity with Android platform internals, middleware, BSP, or system bring-up.
- Experience improving architecture, tooling, workflows, or integration practices across organizations.
- Master’s degree or another advanced technical degree.
