Junior Firmware Design Engineer

Design and validate embedded firmware for networking hardware, including SerDes and optical technologies, across pre-silicon development and silicon bring-up.
Responsibilities
- Enable SerDes and optical technologies
- Implement firmware functionality for signal-processing units
- Define, implement, and maintain firmware algorithms controlling silicon
- Develop and test firmware in emulation and simulation environments
- Debug hardware, firmware, and software issues
- Support silicon bring-up and software development
- Collaborate with architecture, hardware, software, and chip-design teams
- Use data-driven analysis to assess product functionality and improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in C programming
- Experience debugging and triaging complex embedded firmware issues
- Excellent written and spoken English
Nice to have
- Python and MATLAB proficiency
- Understanding of SerDes operation
- Experience developing physical-layer communication protocols
- Knowledge of hardware/software development processes
