A smart retail technology company is seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer in Givatayim, Israel, to improve cloud infrastructure, deployment reliability, automation, and edge-device operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines for backend services and infrastructure deployments.
- Manage Linux and Windows systems across cloud, development, and edge-device environments.
- Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Azure-based cloud infrastructure and services.
- Support Docker- and Kubernetes-based workloads and deployments.
- Automate operating system deployment, provisioning, configuration, patching, and updates for field edge devices.
- Develop automation tools and scripts for provisioning, deployment, scaling, and operational efficiency.
- Support infrastructure provisioning and management through Infrastructure as Code.
- Configure and troubleshoot cloud and on-premises networking, including connectivity, VPNs, DNS, routing, and firewall issues.
- Monitor infrastructure and applications, investigate incidents, and improve reliability, resilience, and deployment velocity.
- Collaborate with development and product teams on operational processes and deployment workflows.
- Maintain technical and operational documentation.
- Contribute to infrastructure security, operational best practices, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, system administration, or related technical roles.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms and services; Azure experience is advantageous.
- Strong Linux and Windows system administration skills.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with operating system provisioning, imaging, unattended installations, and deployment tooling.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and workflows such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation practices.
- Experience troubleshooting networking across cloud and on-premises environments, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, and load balancers.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Basic scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with IoT or edge-device environments.
- Experience automating operating system provisioning at scale.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
- Exposure to cloud and infrastructure security best practices.
