Responsibilities
- Own the SCM environment across applications, operating systems, and server hardware
- Design and develop processes and automation tools for SCM administration
- Improve infrastructure reliability and performance, and deploy changes across systems worldwide using orchestration tools
- Evaluate technology options and collaborate on solution specifications and schedules
- Lead or contribute to GitLab upgrades, migrations, architectural reviews, and design documentation
- Perform root cause analysis and implement systemic fixes
- Support ongoing enhancements and improve engineering teams’ day-to-day productivity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience
- Strong understanding of software configuration management and large-scale, multi-site GitLab environments
- Experience configuring and deploying CI/CD systems
- Strong Python or Ruby scripting and object-oriented programming skills, with sound software engineering practices and familiarity with design patterns
- Hands-on experience with relational databases
- Linux DevOps or system administration experience
- Experience with automation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience with Perforce, Subversion, or ClearCase
- Familiarity with Perl, PostgreSQL, Rocky Linux, CentOS/RHEL, Ubuntu, Ansible, or Puppet
- Proactive, creative problem-solving approach
