A cloud security company is seeking a Senior DevFinOps Engineer to help drive cloud cost efficiency across development and production environments. The role combines DevOps engineering, AWS cost management, automation, financial governance, and AI-based cost optimization for a multi-tenant SaaS ecos
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain cloud cost visibility, allocation, dashboards, budgets, tagging, and anomaly detection across accounts and services.
- Build monitoring, forecasting, alerting, reporting, chargeback, and showback solutions for SaaS products.
- Integrate FinOps practices into CI/CD pipelines, including cost-impact analysis and deployment guardrails.
- Develop AI-based FinOps agents for infrastructure and application-level cloud services.
- Identify and implement optimization opportunities such as right-sizing, savings plans, spot usage, storage tiering, and idle-resource cleanup.
- Provide unit-economics insights by tenant, feature, and service while helping engineering teams adopt cost accountability.
- Plan capacity and model the financial impact of scaling decisions while balancing cost, reliability, performance, and security.
- Partner with engineering teams to establish cost as an operational metric and maintain financial governance.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant DevOps or cloud experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines for development and production.
- At least 2 years of AWS experience with high-traffic systems, multiple services, pricing models, and cost-management tools.
- Strong Python and scripting skills.
- Demonstrated experience delivering measurable cloud cost reductions and building cost-optimization automation.
- Experience using AI tools to control cloud or application costs and investigate cost changes.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS and understanding of their cost drivers.
- Knowledge of security, performance, monitoring, and cloud cost-governance practices.
- Ability to work hands-on with code and manage multiple requests independently.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with FinOps frameworks, showback or chargeback, and unit economics.
- Experience with Jenkins, AWS CloudFormation, and infrastructure as code.
- Exposure to Redis, Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus, and cost analytics tools.
- Experience researching technologies, running proofs of concept, and performing cost analysis.
- Experience measuring and controlling AI-related costs.
