Senior CAD/IT Engineer (VLSI Infrastructure)

Support front-end and back-end VLSI engineering teams by operating EDA environments, scalable compute infrastructure, automation pipelines, storage systems, licensing, and design data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and optimize EDA tools for simulation, synthesis, verification, and physical design.
- Architect and operate on-premises and hybrid-cloud HPC clusters for large-scale VLSI workloads.
- Manage EDA license pools, analyze usage, and improve license utilization and availability.
- Build CI/CD regression pipelines for linting, compilation, verification, and design-quality metrics.
- Manage high-throughput storage for silicon design databases, revision control data, and simulation logs.
- Support Perforce, Git/Git LFS, Methodics, and related design management and revision control systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on CAD/IT experience supporting VLSI engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of Synopsys, Cadence, or Siemens EDA tools and their compute and licensing requirements.
- Advanced Linux or Unix administration skills, including networking, shell environments, and grid schedulers such as Slurm or LSF.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Tcl, Bash, Perl, or Go.
- Experience with HPC clusters, batch queuing, CI/CD automation, networked storage, and design data management systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with Docker or Singularity, Ansible or Puppet, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment and proactive ownership of infrastructure issues.
