Senior VLSI CAD Software Engineer
Join a team transforming chip design by building full-stack EDA platforms. You will architect systems from data models to frontends, own infrastructure at scale, and set technical direction. Ideal for engineers with 5+ years of experience in complex systems, VLSI flows, and cloud-native environments.
Responsibilities
- Architect and lead full-stack EDA platforms, from data models and backend services to frontends, making build-vs-buy decisions.
- Own infrastructure including CI/CD, containerization, observability, on-prem compute, and cloud-native Kubernetes environments.
- Set engineering standards through design reviews, reliability improvements, and mentoring.
- Act as technical leader across silicon, backend, and design-automation teams to automate manual flows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience designing, shipping, and operating production systems.
- Proven full-stack and infrastructure ownership across multiple layers of the stack.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to make architectural decisions under constraints.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across teams.
Nice to have
- Experience building developer platforms, EDA/CAD tooling, or infrastructure for hardware teams, with understanding of VLSI design flows.
- Experience with modern build systems, especially Bazel, including large-scale builds, dependency modeling, and CI integration.
- Production experience designing and operating durable execution platforms at scale (e.g., Temporal, Restate, AWS Step Functions, DBOS).
- Deep Kubernetes and HPC scheduling experience (LSF or Slurm) and running large workloads on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong systems-design instincts, fluency with graph algorithms, large-scale data structures, and strong SQL skills.
