Senior Backend Engineer

Design, build, deploy, and operate production backend services for a unified security platform. This hybrid role is based in Tel Aviv.
Responsibilities
- Own backend services from design through deployment and operations
- Write design documents and guide architecture across microservices, data, and event flows
- Release production capabilities and integrations safely using feature flags, gradual rollouts, and backward-compatible changes
- Write robust, well-tested, maintainable code
- Build user-facing features with attention to latency, correctness, and user experience
- Monitor and debug distributed systems using logs, metrics, traces, and alerts
- Participate in on-call rotations, resolve production incidents, and address root causes
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, architects, and engineers; contribute to React code when needed
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience, preferably with Python
- Experience with event-driven architectures such as SNS/SQS, Dapr, or Kafka
- Track record designing, shipping, and operating production services used by customers
- Strong system design skills, including microservices, REST APIs, and data modeling
- Experience building and operating user-facing applications at scale
- Experience with production monitoring and debugging, including logs, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query performance
- Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in production
- Excellent Hebrew and English communication skills
Nice to have
- React experience
- Workflow orchestration experience, such as Orkes/Conductor or Temporal
- Knowledge of cybersecurity or networking
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, or MongoDB
- Experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers
