We are seeking a Senior Staff Backend Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems and data pipelines for a leading cybersecurity platform. You will own complex projects from design to production, using Java/Spring Boot, Python, and Kubernetes. Hybrid role in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable backend services within a microservices architecture using Java/Spring Boot and Python.
- Design and build data pipelines and ETL workflows that ingest, transform, and unify data from diverse sources at enterprise scale.
- Lead solutions from scratch to production, including technical designs, architectural decisions, and full project ownership from implementation to deployment, monitoring, and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, engineers, and UX designers.
- Serve as a technical anchor, leading design discussions, setting engineering standards, and driving best practices.
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging AI-driven solutions.
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience building complex SaaS solutions in production, with proficiency in Java/Spring Boot or a comparable high-level language.
- Hands-on experience with data-intensive systems, including ETL pipelines, big data stores, and high-throughput data processing.
- Proficiency in high-scale, multi-tenant cloud architecture, including microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and workflow orchestration.
- Proven ability to lead end-to-end technical work autonomously, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience designing and optimizing backend data infrastructure for large language model (LLM) workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) platforms, or AI-driven security analytics pipelines.
- Experience as a team lead or tech lead.
- B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field.
