As a Senior Backend Tech Lead, you will design and build scalable backend systems for a PropTech platform. You'll lead hands-on development, drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product teams to deliver features that improve maintenance operations for property managers and residents.
Responsibilities
- Write code, design architecture, and solve complex problems to set quality and scalability standards.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions and drive initiatives from idea to delivery.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Customer Success to align engineering work with business goals.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in an engineering leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Exceptional hands-on experience in Python, Java, C#, Node.js, or Elixir.
- Experience driving adoption of AI coding tools like Claude Code and Cursor.
- Deep knowledge of high-performance SQL and NoSQL database design.
- Track record of designing scalable, high-availability architectures.
- Strong command of AWS services.
- Experience with message queue technologies (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, or Oban).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines supporting daily production releases.
- Experience scaling R&D teams in fast-moving startups.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
