Build and support highly scalable, reliable backend products for food delivery services used by consumers and organizations. Own features from design through deployment, monitoring, and production support while collaborating with product, design, engineering, and external vendor teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, integrate, test, and validate backend solutions.
- Own features and code from conception through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Build scalable and reliable platform additions and ensure performance, security, and maintainability.
- Review peer code and follow engineering standards.
- Evaluate tools, technologies, frameworks, and vendors with senior team members.
- Collaborate across product, design, backend, DevOps, mobile, and web engineering teams.
- Partner with third-party vendors to introduce new solutions.
- Monitor applications and the broader platform and participate in on-call production support.
- Adapt across backend, frontend, infrastructure, and monitoring tasks as needed.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building highly scalable consumer-facing applications.
- 3+ years of experience with Python, Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript.
- Experience architecting and developing testable, fault-tolerant, performant software designed for future evolution.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience with automated testing for services.
- Experience developing highly available distributed systems.
- Experience building application observability.
- Experience with distributed databases, including NoSQL or relational databases.
- Experience with Docker or similar containerized solutions.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Spinnaker.
