Looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to own core infrastructure: build scalable services, architect data pipelines, and elevate test infrastructure. Set technical direction, mentor, and champion AI-native workflows. Expertise in Node.js/TypeScript, AWS, Kubernetes, and distributed systems required.
Responsibilities
- Own core backend infrastructure, designing and building scalable, reliable services in Node.js/TypeScript/Python/Go.
- Build and scale data pipelines to process and move large volumes of data reliably.
- Elevate test and validation infrastructure through automation, tooling, and CI/CD systems.
- Set technical direction, drive architecture decisions, and establish engineering standards.
- Mentor engineers and help shape a high-ownership engineering culture.
- Lead with AI-native workflows, using AI-assisted development tools daily and promoting their adoption.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of production systems at scale.
- Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with strong software architecture skills.
- Strong cloud and infrastructure experience (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker) including CI/CD, observability, and reliability.
- Experience building and scaling data-intensive systems (data pipelines, distributed APIs, SQL/NoSQL, Kafka/Spark).
- Experience building developer infrastructure, internal tooling, test automation, or AI/LLM tooling.
- AI-native engineering mindset with daily expert use of AI-assisted development tools.
- Technical leadership experience: mentoring, driving architecture, raising engineering standards.
- Experience in fast-paced startup/scale-up environments.
