Seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and NestJS. You will work with Postgres, Redis, and BullMQ, and collaborate with frontend teams. This role involves end-to-end feature ownership, cloud-native deployments, and contributing to technical roadmap and architecture decisions.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services using NestJS.
- Work with databases and Redis to build efficient data models and caching strategies.
- Manage background processing using BullMQ.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers working in React.
- Own features end-to-end: design, develop, test, deploy, and monitor.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and help shape our technical roadmap.
- Work in a cloud-native environment, managing deployments, configuration, and scalability.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Node.js, NestJS, Postgres, Redis, and job queues.
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance.
- Proven ability to take full ownership of feature delivery, including frontend integration.
Nice to have
- Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Hands-on experience with Terraform & Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience with Amazon Aurora.
- Familiarity with dbt or other data engineering tools.
- Understanding of data pipelines, ETL, and materialized views.
- Experience with Data Warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Materialize, etc.).
