Principal Software Engineer leading architecture and technical strategy for a large-scale healthcare AI imaging platform, driving cross-team initiatives and ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead company-wide technical initiatives and ensure architectural alignment across product areas.
  • Define long-term technical strategy for the imaging platform with engineering leadership.
  • Provide architectural guidance and conduct design reviews for senior engineers.
  • Establish engineering best practices for performance, reliability, and observability.
  • Contribute hands-on to architectural spikes and first-of-kind implementations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve scalability and developer productivity.
  • Represent the group in company-wide architecture discussions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years building large-scale distributed software systems.
  • Proven technical leadership delivering complex cross-functional projects.
  • Deep understanding of architecture, scalability, data consistency, and fault tolerance.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent) and modern DevOps.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, Go, Node.js, Java, or C#.
  • Experience designing event-driven architectures and data-intensive systems.
  • Ability to align technical directors and executives towards a technical vision.

Nice to have

  • Experience in healthcare or medical data standards (DICOM, HL7, FHIR, EHR).
