Own the end-to-end design of a core area of a public transportation software platform while developing AI agents, skills, and internal tools that improve design workflows. This is a senior individual contributor role with mentoring responsibilities and no people management.
Responsibilities
- Own a significant product area from discovery through launch and ongoing improvement
- Design user-centered experiences in collaboration with product managers and engineers
- Build and maintain AI agents, skills, commands, and internal tools for the design team
- Create clickable, testable prototypes by orchestrating agents and reviewing their output
- Define which work is delegated to agents and where human review is required
- Establish repeatable design workflows and document them for the wider team
- Run prototyping sprints, office hours, pairing sessions, internal demos, and related enablement activities
- Define quality checks for agent-generated output and assess when manual approaches are better
- Mentor designers and help the team adopt new working practices
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience designing complex systems or platforms
- Portfolio demonstrating design process, problem-solving ability, and impact; portfolio link required
- Demonstrated leadership in transforming how design teams work
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript sufficient to review and guide agent-generated output
- Excellent communication and writing skills, including prompts, specifications, and documentation
Nice to have
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as n8n, MCP servers, scripting, or CI
- Experience designing AI or agentic product experiences
- Public work such as a repository, plugin, skill set, or written perspective on agentic design
