A defense technology company is hiring a database administrator to manage SQL and NoSQL databases in complex, hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement database architectures for SQL and NoSQL systems.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and manage PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and MS SQL instances, including clustered environments.
  • Monitor performance and optimize queries, indexes, and system resources.
  • Design and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, including replication, failover, backup, and recovery.
  • Perform database maintenance, including partitioning, cleanup, and reorganization.
  • Develop Bash and Python scripts to automate monitoring, backups, and recurring maintenance.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and architecture.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of DBA experience in large-scale, complex environments.
  • Strong expertise in SQL technologies, including proficiency in PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or Oracle.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and virtualized environments.

Nice to have

  • PostgreSQL expertise is a significant advantage.
