Senior Cybersecurity Engineer and Security Researcher

A funded cybersecurity company is hiring a senior professional for a hybrid role combining security research, offensive and defensive innovation, and backend platform development. The position is based in Tel Aviv and reports to the VP of R&D.
Responsibilities
- Investigate complex network topologies and model, simulate, and map adversarial attack paths across large enterprise networks
- Reverse engineer enterprise network and security devices, including firewalls, routers, VPN gateways, and cloud switches
- Design and develop high-performance backend microservices and core platform logic
- Translate security research into production platform features
- Work directly with enterprise clients to understand architectural challenges and tailor technical mitigations
- Advance offensive and defensive security research with cybersecurity engineers and researchers
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a cybersecurity engineer or security researcher
- Deep expertise in networking and network security, including routing protocols, packet analysis, network architectures, and traffic inspection
- Background in an elite IDF technological or cyber intelligence unit, such as Talpiot, 8200, 81, or Matzov
- Strong programming and backend development skills in Python, Go, or C++
Nice to have
- Experience with reverse engineering, vulnerability discovery, or binary analysis
- Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP and hybrid network configurations
- Strong communication and technical presentation skills for enterprise engineering audiences
