A government organization in Jerusalem is seeking a senior leader to manage a cybersecurity and advanced technologies research unit. The role combines strategic planning, advanced digital research, technology development, and coordination between operational needs and technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the unit's professional, research, and technology activities, including its operating concept, objectives, and work plans.
- Lead advanced digital-environment research to identify trends, patterns, threats, and opportunities.
- Direct collection, monitoring, content management and development, and effectiveness measurement activities.
- Conduct or oversee advanced malware research, vulnerability research, forensic research, reverse engineering, communications-protocol analysis, penetration testing, and big-data research.
- Lead the evaluation and integration of advanced technologies and the development of tools and capabilities that support research.
- Connect operational and strategic needs with research activities and technology solutions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience performing the responsibilities described.
- Significant, demonstrated experience leading complex cybersecurity, information, and digital-environment research and technology activities.
- Experience conducting advanced research or technology development and deriving insights from technology intelligence and big-data research.
- Experience leading complex technology capabilities or projects from requirements definition through implementation.
- A bachelor's degree in computing, exact sciences, or technological engineering; alternatively, a computer or technology practical engineering qualification, 400 hours of professional cyber-defense training, or qualifying experience in a military technology unit.
- The successful candidate must complete a cyber-defense certification within 24 months of its effective start date.
- Ability to work and lead in a complex, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience in influence, perception, digital activity, or digital campaigns.
- Experience establishing and leading a professional research, information, or technology unit.
- Experience with AI, data, and big data.
- Experience integrating advanced technologies for collection, monitoring, information analysis, and effectiveness measurement.
- Experience in government, defense, or national environments and collaboration with organizations in Israel and abroad.
