Lead the technical direction of a remote puzzle game studio, overseeing development strategy, architecture, engineering operations, and delivery across the full game lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the technology strategy
- Oversee game development from prototyping through release and post-launch support
- Lead approximately 50 technical specialists across departments
- Build and scale the development organization through hiring, mentoring, and leadership development
- Select and implement game engines, technologies, and development tools
- Own client-server architecture, networking, and multiplayer backend systems
- Ensure game performance, stability, and optimization across target platforms
- Balance technical feasibility with creative goals in cross-functional collaboration
- Manage the technical budget and development resources
- Evaluate emerging technologies for game development
- Establish code quality, code review, CI/CD, and automated testing practices
- Manage technical debt and development timeline risks
Requirements
- At least 7 years of game development experience, including 3 or more years in senior technical leadership
- A shipped game project; multiple shipped projects are preferred
- Deep knowledge of Unity and C#
- Understanding of multiplayer architecture, networking, and server infrastructure
- Experience managing development teams of 50 or more people
- Experience optimizing games across multiple platforms
- Understanding of free-to-play, live-ops, and in-app purchase implementation
- Experience with technical budgeting and resource planning
- Strong systems thinking, leadership, and communication skills

- Multiple shipped games across platforms
- Experience with AI/ML, procedural generation, cloud services, or cross-platform development
