Project Manager - Construction

Oversee construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance. Manage scope, schedule, resources, risks, and communication with field personnel, staff, vendors, and customers. Requires 5+ years of experience in construction project management.

Responsibilities

  • Read and implement contract language into project management practices.
  • Monitor, build, and maintain project schedules.
  • Notify customers of delays or scope changes and document communications.
  • Monitor, forecast, and manage all job costs to keep projections accurate.
  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and summarize project progress.
  • Maintain knowledge of QA, safety plans, and change order controls.
  • Utilize BIM/VDC and 3D construction tools for project execution.
  • Coordinate with team members, vendors, and other departments.
  • Serve as primary contact for project questions.
  • Prepare status reports for upper management.
  • Track and report project hours, expenses, and manage budgets.
  • Obtain overall project approvals.
  • Direct strategic direction of projects.
  • Monitor progress and determine actions to ensure completion.
  • Understand business needs to develop clear project plans.
  • Manage customer change requests.
  • Read construction drawings/specs to assess scope, budget, and schedule impact.
  • Conduct routine inspections to remedy issues.
  • Review estimates, prepare change orders and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate material procurement.
  • Ensure adherence to prefabrication policies.
  • Apply applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Promote and enforce a positive safety culture.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers.
  • Visit job sites regularly.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project and/or trade-related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field (or state journeyman license or relevant work experience substitution)
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of BIM/VDC and 3D construction tools
  • Intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
