Project Manager
Responsible for managing small-scale engineering, procurement, and construction projects. Establish execution frameworks, ensure safety and quality, manage costs and schedules, and maintain client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Review prime contract and subcontracts
- Collaborate on project execution documents ensuring compliance with contractual and operational requirements
- Support Project Director in emphasizing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) focus throughout all project phases
- Report on project baseline execution, safety, quality, and productivity
- Prepare and communicate project baseline documentation
- Draft contract summary and scope of work for Project Director approval
- Collaborate to meet as-sold profitability targets
- Define project organization and staffing requirements
- Participate in establishing and maintaining Project Execution Plan and Procedures Manual
- Provide project leadership to ensure safety, quality, value, timeliness, and profitability
- Maintain effective client relations to ensure cooperation and prompt payment
- Support development of distributed execution plan to maximize workshare opportunities
- Foster a collaborative work environment and lead team toward aligned goals
- Participate in comprehensive project reporting, including final close-out report
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in applicable field and 7 years of work-related experience, or 11 years of combined education and directly related experience if non-degreed
- Effective communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
- Ability to learn and apply applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Nice to have
- Jobsite experience and understanding of construction safety program
- 5 years of experience as Project Engineer or Specialist, or significant project role such as Project Controls Lead or Contracts Lead, plus 3 years as design or construction engineer
- Project management experience in international locations and diverse cultural environments
- Successful performance as Project Manager on one small job or assistant Project Manager on medium EPFC/CM project
- Completed in-house project management courses
- Knowledge of project design, engineering, procurement, material management, construction, commissioning, startup, and turnover processes
- Project Controls and Finance knowledge including scheduling, progress measurement, risk assessment, cost control, estimating, change management
- Appreciation of key elements of contract law and when to engage legal
- Understanding of regulatory requirements including permitting
- Basic understanding of project funding
- Proactive, goal-oriented with initiative to influence events positively
- Ability to resolve problems and work in complex project environments
- High standards of self-performance with accountability
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification suggested
