Architect high-density data center whitespace designs, integrating power, cooling, and network infrastructure for AI cloud platforms. Lead capacity modeling, CAD documentation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure scalable, energy-efficient, and compliant facilities.
Responsibilities
- Design whitespace layouts including rack placement and aisle configurations
- Integrate power delivery and cooling systems
- Develop 3D models and capacity planning tools
- Coordinate structured cabling and fiber management
- Lead design reviews and risk assessments
- Enforce industry standards (TIA-942, ASHRAE) and building codes
- Produce and maintain CAD/BIM drawings
- Evaluate modular technologies for energy efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities, or Data Center Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in data center design
- Advanced CAD/BIM skills (AutoCAD, Revit, Visio)
- Deep knowledge of power distribution, UPS, HVAC, and cabling
- Knowledge of TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, ANSI/BICSI
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel to data center sites
Nice to have
- Hyperscale liquid cooling or modular data center design experience
- RCDD or CDCP certification
- LEED-certified or carbon-neutral design experience
- CFD modeling experience
- Mentoring or vendor management experience
