Country General Manager
Senior on-site leader responsible for establishing and running a large-scale international cyber and AI training academy. Owns business operations, P&L, budgeting, procurement, and leads academic, technical, and operations teams while managing client and government stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Serve as senior on-site leader overseeing setup, launch, and day-to-day operations.
- Own end-to-end business operations: budgeting, forecasting, cost control, procurement, financial reporting.
- Lead and develop in-country leadership team across academic, technical, and operations functions.
- Translate program strategy into executable country plan with milestones, KPIs, and accountability.
- Act as primary point of contact between local team, regional management, and HQ.
- Represent organization with client, government, partners, vendors, including reporting and steering forums.
- Oversee establishment and running of academy facilities, classrooms, labs, equipment, support services.
- Drive embedding of advanced technologies (training platforms, cyber ranges, AI tools) into curriculum and operations.
- Ensure training programs launch on schedule, meet contracts, deliver quality outcomes.
- Establish operational routines: reporting cadences, risk management, escalation paths, continuous improvement.
- Recruit and onboard key positions in coordination with HQ.
- Ensure compliance with local legal, regulatory, security, safety, data-protection requirements.
Requirements
- 10+ years progressive leadership experience, including 5+ years as GM, Country Manager, COO, or director of large-scale program.
- Proven track record standing up and running complex operations or large-scale projects, ideally in training/education, technology, defense, or security.
- Strong business operations background: P&L ownership, budgeting, procurement, vendor management, organizational buildout.
- Experience in cybersecurity governance (security programs, policies, risk/compliance frameworks).
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage senior stakeholders, including government entities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong executive presence, sound judgment, ability to operate independently far from HQ.
- High integrity, discretion, ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to relocate internationally and work onsite full-time, with travel.
- Must hold valid foreign passport enabling international relocation and employment.
Nice to have
- Experience working in Southeast Asia and familiarity with local business, regulatory, cultural environment.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity, AI, or technology training environments.
- Experience delivering government or public-sector programs.
- Experience establishing new legal entity or operation in new market.
- Additional language skills, including Bahasa Indonesia.
