Cost Estimation Engineer
Seeking a Cost Estimation Engineer to join a manufacturing plant in the aviation division. The role involves full responsibility for building detailed cost estimates for machining parts, sheet metal, and assembly of mechanical/hydraulic assemblies, based on blueprints and customer requirements. Requires in-depth understanding of production processes, work times, materials, and market prices.
Responsibilities
- Analyze mechanical blueprints and technical specifications
- Determine optimal manufacturing processes for parts and assemblies
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates covering materials, labor, and tooling
- Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and sales teams
- Manage pricing communications with customers
Requirements
- Engineer or practical engineer degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of cost estimation experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and hydraulic assemblies
- Proficient in reading mechanical blueprints and GD&T
Nice to have
- Familiarity with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel materials
- Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems
- Knowledge of ISO and AS9100 quality standards
- Experience with industrial or defense sector clients
