Own end-to-end relationships with component and subsystem suppliers for a networking hardware organization. Lead commercial governance, supply continuity, quality oversight, new product introduction, and return management across a global vendor ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end onboarding and qualification of new component and subsystem vendors
- Manage pricing, capacity commitments, payment terms, contracts, and quarterly business reviews
- Maintain alternate-source qualifications and business continuity plans
- Coordinate forecasts, committed deliveries, shortages, capacity risks, and mitigation plans
- Manage vendor liability, including consigned inventory, aging stock, and write-off decisions
- Own vendor quality metrics and coordinate corrective actions with engineering and quality teams
- Coordinate engineering changes and vendor participation in NPI builds
- Manage field returns, failure analysis, replacement shipments, and 8D root-cause closure
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in vendor management, strategic sourcing, or supply chain within a hardware technology company
- Demonstrated ability to manage commercial, technical, quality, and supply responsibilities simultaneously
- Experience with NPI qualification cycles, including EVT, DVT, and PVT
- Experience managing PCN processes and qualification activities
- Contract negotiation experience covering supply agreements, pricing, and capacity commitments
- Strong commercial and cost-analysis skills
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and work effectively with engineering teams
- Experience using delivery data and quality metrics to guide decisions
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder influence

- Optics or photonics experience
- Background with networking or high-speed electronic components
- Experience with SAP, Priority, or equivalent ERP systems
