Lead supplier engineering and strategic sourcing for advanced hardware programs. Build global supplier ecosystems, guide technical and commercial partnerships, and connect early research concepts with scalable product applications.
Responsibilities
- Own vendor engagement strategy and execution across technology categories.
- Translate product and technology requirements into actionable supply strategies.
- Drive early supplier involvement, co-development, and co-investment in advanced programs.
- Lead technical and commercial negotiations covering statements of work, NRE investments, capacity commitments, and long-term partnerships.
- Provide supply feasibility input throughout product development.
- Identify strategic partnerships based on emerging technology trends.
- Build supplier development programs that improve engineering maturity, process capability, and operational stability.
- Lead executive supplier relationships and strategic business reviews.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in supplier engineering and strategic sourcing.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.
- Experience covering products from early concepts through manufacturing and supply ecosystem development.
- Hands-on experience with volume manufacturing, overseas manufacturers, component suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Track record leading supplier selection and qualification with engineering and research teams.
- Technical knowledge of electrical components, PCBs, optical components, mechanical systems, and thermal domains.
- Proficiency with ERP and PLM systems, including demonstrated use of AI tools.
- Ability to translate product requirements into optimized, cost-effective supply strategies.
