Lead end-to-end development and delivery programs for advanced unmanned defense systems, from operational requirements and engineering through integration, field testing, production transition, and client acceptance.
Responsibilities
- Own programs from initial customer requirements through development, testing, production transition, and final delivery.
- Translate operational needs and client expectations into engineering work plans and execution roadmaps.
- Lead cross-functional teams across software, electronics, mechanics, RF communications, integration, and systems engineering.
- Drive system integration, laboratory validation, and field flight testing through system maturity.
- Identify technical, operational, and supply risks and manage engineering change orders and task priorities.
- Coordinate R&D, procurement, vendors, integration, manufacturing, and field operations.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for defense clients, operational users, and executive stakeholders.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary technology projects across hardware, software, electronics, mechanics, and communications.
- Strong technical and systems background with the ability to support engineering leadership and system trade-off decisions.
- Hands-on experience leading projects through R&D, integration, field testing, and delivery.
- Experience in defense technology, unmanned aerial systems, robotics, or autonomous systems.
- Experience working directly with defense clients, operational end users, or government and international defense partners.
- Experience transitioning products from R&D or prototype stages to serial production.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, RF communications, command-and-control systems, computer vision or AI, or electro-optics.
- Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, software, industrial, or a related discipline.
- Ability to manage parallel workflows and own scope, schedule, risk, budget, quality, and field performance outcomes.
