Lead end-to-end R&D projects for connected-device products supporting animal care, agriculture, pet health, and conservation. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and support new product introduction in a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
- Define project timelines and manage delivery risks.
- Lead end-to-end R&D activities for next-generation connected devices.
- Coordinate hardware, embedded software, automated test equipment, software, and integration disciplines.
- Contribute to system architecture and design decisions.
- Support new product introduction from engineering through operations.
- Collaborate with product and marketing teams to achieve project goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field.
- At least 5 years of project management experience for multidisciplinary systems involving embedded software, hardware, and wireless communications.
- Experience developing embedded, hardware, and RF products.
- Experience resolving detailed technical problems and project showstoppers.
- Understanding of complex IoT systems and ability to learn new technical concepts quickly.
- Experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects across different sites.
- Strong organization, communication, teamwork, structured-process, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on approach and ability to focus teams on project priorities.
Nice to have
- Experience developing serverless products.
- Coding experience in C, C#, Java, or Python.
- Experience with RF technologies such as BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE-M, or LoRa.
- Experience developing products centered on smartphone applications.
- Experience in matrix organizations involving hardware, software, subcontractors, and operations.
- Experience with change control, release management, requirements management, stakeholder management, strategic planning, or waterfall delivery.
