R&D Program Manager
Strategic and execution-focused R&D Program Manager responsible for leading complex innovation programs from concept through commercialization. Bridge technical expertise and executive leadership, ensuring alignment across R&D, commercial, and cross-functional teams. Drive program planning, governance, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end program management for R&D initiatives, from concept development through commercialization.
- Drive cross-functional alignment between R&D, commercial, operations, legal, and other key stakeholders.
- Facilitate stage-gate and agile development processes, ensuring governance and decision-making frameworks.
- Support intellectual property activities, including patent-related processes and freedom-to-operate assessments.
- Conduct technical and business reviews of high-priority projects, providing insights to leadership.
- Monitor issue resolution, risk progress, and program health, providing status updates to senior leadership.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and progress reports.
- Promote best practices and operational excellence across the R&D project portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in R&D project/program management in consumer products, hardware, or technology.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional new product development programs from concept to launch.
- Strong experience with stage-gate and/or agile program management methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and align priorities across complex organizations.
- Experience supporting intellectual property processes (patent filings, freedom-to-operate).
- Strong technical acumen to guide complex engineering discussions.
- Proficiency with project/portfolio management tools (MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.).
