Join a system and algorithms team developing digital signal-processing algorithms for coherent optical communication systems, from initial research through production. The role is based in central Israel with a hybrid schedule that includes two work-from-home days per week.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, simulate, and implement signal-processing algorithms for coherent optical communication systems across the development lifecycle.
- Develop algorithms for clock recovery, equalization, phase recovery, tracking, and signal demodulation.
- Build behavioral models of optical communication channels, electro-optical transmitters and receivers, and high-speed ADC/DAC components.
- Convert high-level MATLAB or C algorithm models into optimized fixed-point designs for RTL and hardware implementation.
- Work with VLSI, hardware, analog, verification, and firmware teams on lab bring-up, silicon debugging, and system performance tuning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- At least five years of hands-on algorithm development experience.
- Recent, proven experience developing digital signal-processing algorithms.
- Significant expertise in at least one of clock recovery, equalization, phase recovery, or tracking.
- Experience with single-carrier modulation and demodulation.
- Hands-on fixed-point design experience.
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB and/or C.
