Lead cross-organizational and project-based cloud architecture for public and government cloud environments. Define scalable architectures, guide cloud adoption, and collaborate with development, infrastructure, information systems, and security teams through production launch.
Responsibilities
- Lead cloud architecture planning across public and government cloud environments.
- Define cross-organizational and project-level solution architectures aligned with established standards and reference architectures.
- Drive organizational cloud adoption and related changes in ways of working.
- Collaborate with development, information systems, infrastructure, and information security teams on new and complex projects through go-live.
- Design cloud platforms, landing zones, networking, containers, orchestration, serverless services, and application infrastructure.
- Plan modernization and migration from monolithic systems to microservices.
- Design cloud-based AI solutions and managed AI service integrations.
- Define cloud security, resilience, backup, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance architectures.
- Prepare high-level design documents and structured architectural deliverables.
- Assess emerging technologies and perform technical research and benchmarking.
Requirements
- Relevant technical education.
- At least six years of cloud architecture planning experience in GCP or AWS environments, including three years of hands-on experience.
- More than four years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect in public cloud environments.
- Experience managing PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS environments and leading technology teams.
- Practical experience designing organizational landing zones, including account structures, environment isolation, and cloud networking.
- Experience designing containers, orchestration, and serverless services using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
- Experience migrating monolithic systems to microservices architectures.
- Experience designing cloud-based AI solutions, including LLM systems, agents, multi-agent systems, RAG, vector databases, sensitive-data protection, and model quality control.
- Experience with managed cloud AI services such as Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, and Vertex AI Agent Engine.
- Experience designing cloud information security covering IAM, key management, encryption, network controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience planning resilience, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Ability to analyze organizational systems and business needs, including data structure planning.
- Ability to design application and infrastructure architectures, produce high-level design documents, and deliver structured architectural documentation.
- Ability to evaluate new technologies, conduct research, and perform benchmarking.
Nice to have
- Experience with government cloud environments, including Nimbus.
- Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience implementing CI/CD and leading long-term technology change.
- API management and API security experience with tools such as Apigee or F5.
- Cloud cost management and optimization experience, including FinOps.
- Healthcare domain experience and knowledge of HL7 or FHIR.
- At least three years of practical software development experience.
- Experience in large, regulated organizations with more than 1,000 employees and hundreds of systems.
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional or GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification.
