Senior Cloud Architect

A large public-sector organization is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect in Jerusalem for a hybrid role. The position will lead cloud architecture, modernization, and adoption across the organization, covering public and government cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture of cloud environments, infrastructure, and services across public and government cloud platforms.
- Drive organizational change required for cloud adoption and work in alignment with established standards and reference architectures.
- Translate organizational needs into requirements and position solutions within the existing architecture.
- Evaluate architectural alternatives across cost, security, resilience, and maintainability considerations.
- Design enterprise Landing Zones, cloud networks, account structures, and environment isolation.
- Design application and infrastructure architectures, including modernization from monoliths to microservices.
- Design cloud-based AI, LLM, agent, multi-agent, and RAG solutions.
- Define cloud security, sensitive-data protection, resilience, backup, and disaster recovery approaches.
- Research and benchmark technologies and platforms and prepare high-level design documentation.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and represent the architecture function across the organization.
Requirements
- At least six years of proven experience designing cloud architectures in AWS or GCP, including at least three years of hands-on experience.
- Practical experience designing and operating an enterprise Landing Zone, including account structures, environment isolation, and cloud networking.
- Practical knowledge of cloud services across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS layers.
- Experience designing and working with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS, as well as serverless services.
- Experience designing architectures and migrating monolithic systems to microservices architectures.
- Experience designing cloud-based AI solutions using LLM systems, agents, multi-agent systems, RAG solutions, and vector databases.
- Experience protecting sensitive information and implementing AI model quality controls.
- Experience with managed cloud AI services such as Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, and Vertex AI Agent Engine.
- Experience designing cloud information security, including IAM, key management, encryption, network controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience designing resilience, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong systems analysis skills and the ability to translate business and technical needs into appropriate architecture and data structures.
- Ability to design application, infrastructure, and system topology architectures at both enterprise and individual-system levels.
- Ability to produce clear high-level design documents and structured architectural deliverables.
- Ability to evaluate new platforms, conduct technology research, and perform benchmarks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong professional representation.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multitasking environment while contributing to a team.
- High-level English proficiency.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with the government cloud environment.
- Infrastructure as code and configuration management using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience implementing CI/CD processes and leading long-term technology change.
- API management and API security experience, including Apigee or F5.
- Cloud cost management and optimization using FinOps practices.
- Healthcare domain knowledge, including HL7 and FHIR interoperability standards.
- At least three years of software development experience.
- Experience in large, highly regulated organizations with more than 1,000 employees and hundreds of systems.
- Relevant professional certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional or GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
