Develop low-level software, hardware bring-up processes, and automated test infrastructure for networking and interconnect hardware. Own hardware-software integration, validation, and production deployment while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hardware, electrical, thermal, and mechanical engineers to understand specifications and define test requirements
- Develop low-level C/C++ drivers for hardware components
- Build DLL wrappers for integration with higher-level C# applications
- Debug hardware-software integration issues using instruments and software tools
- Review schematics and datasheets to implement software control mechanisms
- Lead hardware bring-up, validation, and deployment of test solutions to production
- Design and develop automated test infrastructure
- Translate hardware requirements into software solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or software engineering, with significant hardware or electronics coursework or experience
- At least 5 years of experience in hardware-software integration, low-level driver development, or firmware development
- Experience leading technical projects
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C#, plus C/C++ experience for low-level programming
- Ability to read electrical schematics, block diagrams, and hardware datasheets
- Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG debuggers, or similar hardware debugging instruments
- Strong problem-solving skills for complex hardware-software interactions
- Ability to collaborate with hardware teams and take technical ownership
Nice to have
- Experience with PCIe, I2C, SPI, UART, or similar communication protocols
- Device-driver development for Windows or Linux
- Embedded systems, microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs, or ASIC integration experience
- Experience wrapping native C/C++ libraries into managed .NET/C# DLLs
- Knowledge of hardware validation methods and automated test equipment
- Experience with networking hardware, high-speed interconnects, or semiconductor validation
