Lead quality strategy for a dedicated development group at a security software company. This hands-on role combines QA leadership, test architecture, automation, integration validation, and release readiness.
Responsibilities
- Own the quality strategy for a dedicated development group
- Represent QA leadership and serve as the focal point for quality status, risks, blockers, priorities, and release readiness
- Define and enforce QA best practices, testing standards, and quality processes
- Lead test planning, execution, regression testing, reporting, and release validation
- Partner with engineering, product, DevOps, QA leadership, and executive stakeholders
- Mentor and guide automation engineers
- Review test plans, test cases, automation coverage, and testing strategies
- Track quality KPIs, defect trends, automation coverage, and release confidence
- Improve automation reliability and expand automated test coverage
- Remain hands-on with feature testing, integration validation, and complex quality investigations
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in QA, QA automation, test architecture, or a similar field
- At least 4 years of hands-on development experience with TypeScript and/or Python
- Strong experience with manual and automated testing
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, clean code practices, and maintainable, scalable solution design
- Experience leading QA activities within a development group or product area
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test strategy, test design, defect lifecycles, and release processes
- Experience with API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
- Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Pytest, or comparable automation frameworks
- Experience testing Kubernetes-based systems, including asynchronous flows
- Ability to communicate quality status, risks, priorities, and release confidence clearly
Nice to have
- Experience in cybersecurity, data security, SaaS, cloud-native, or enterprise software
- Experience with Docker, microservices, or distributed systems
- Experience with TypeScript, Python, SQL, or backend data validation
- Experience defining QA KPIs, dashboards, automation metrics, or release quality reports
