Hardware R&D Director
Lead multidisciplinary hardware engineering teams developing automotive and autonomous-driving products across the full lifecycle, from architecture to high-volume production.
Responsibilities
- Lead board design, PCB layout, mechanical R&D, and design-for-test teams.
- Manage team leaders, set priorities, develop technical and managerial capabilities, and mentor engineers and technical leaders.
- Own hardware product development from requirements and architecture through qualification and production release.
- Work with automotive customers to understand requirements and lead technical discussions and decisions.
- Ensure products meet performance, reliability, cost, manufacturability, testability, and automotive-quality targets.
- Lead technical investigations with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Manage the transition from prototypes to industrialization and high-volume production.
- Support technology selection, product roadmaps, resource planning, recruitment, and organizational development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- At least 12 years of multidisciplinary hardware product development experience, including at least 5 years managing engineering teams and team leaders or managers.
- Experience leading products from architecture through qualification and mass production.
- System-level expertise in high-speed digital and PCB design, embedded systems, power, SoC integration, and communication interfaces.
- Cross-functional understanding of mechanical engineering, software, validation, manufacturing, cost, and reliability.
- Experience working directly with technical customers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
- Fluent spoken and written English.

- Experience with automotive ECUs, ADAS, autonomous-driving systems, or central-compute platforms.
